Get your evenings back.

Practical tech help, in plain English. Automation that handles the admin, a website that earns its keep, and an honest look at where your hours go. Less time on the laptop. More on the work that pays.

The problem

Most businesses don't need more software.
They need less repetitive work.

The workday rarely gets eaten by one big task. It disappears into emails, follow-ups, forms, invoices, missed calls, updates, reminders and admin that should not need your constant attention.

Admin & operations

Invoices, emails, chasing payments, updating spreadsheets, moving information between systems. The small jobs that quietly eat the evening.

Customer communication

Missed enquiries, slow replies, repeated questions, manual booking. Customers expect quick answers, even when you're busy.

Growth & visibility

Websites that look good but do very little. No follow-up, no lead capture, no system behind them. Your website should help the business, not just sit there.

RiverWood finds the repetitive work, clears the bottlenecks, and builds practical systems that quietly keep things moving.

How it works

Start with the workflow, not the tool.

Before recommending tools, the workflow comes first. Where do enquiries come from? Where do they get missed? What gets typed twice? What keeps landing back on your plate? Then it becomes clear what's actually worth automating.

Who this is for

Built for businesses that are stretched thin.

For businesses busy enough to need better systems, with no appetite for unnecessary complexity.

Good fit

  • You spend evenings on admin
  • You miss enquiries when you're busy
  • Manual follow-ups are quietly losing work
  • Your website looks fine but earns its keep poorly
  • You want AI explained in plain English
  • You want practical help, not just advice

Bad fit

  • Gimmicks and hype
  • Fully hands-off magic
  • AI for the sake of AI
  • Complicated systems nobody will use
  • Pressure to swap all your tools at once

The approach

Plain-English tech. Sensible systems. Less noise.

Most businesses don't need a huge digital transformation project. They need a clearer way to handle the work they're already doing.

RiverWood focuses on practical improvements that save time, reduce stress, and make the business easier to run.

No technical theatre.

No unnecessary tools.

No pressure to automate things that should stay human.

Just useful systems, built properly. They save you time and grow the business.

Workflow Review

Find out where your time is going.

A short review of your day. Enquiries, admin, follow-ups, the tools you're already using. Out the other end: a clear picture of where automation can realistically save time, and what to leave alone.

You'll leave with

  • The biggest bottlenecks in your week
  • Quick wins worth doing this month
  • Automation opportunities that pay for themselves
  • What not to automate (just as important)
  • A simple suggested plan, no twelve-tab spreadsheet

About me

Built by someone who's untangled enough complicated systems to keep yours simple.

I'm James. I started out in 1998 looking after server systems for a hardware vendor. For the last 20 years I've worked as an IT Manager, building corporate networks, complex manufacturing systems and improving processes for places like BMW, AT&T and HELLER.

After years of meetings about roadmaps nobody reads, I lost the love for the corporate world. I'd rather spend my time helping real people with real problems in their business.

RiverWood is just me. No account managers, no pushy sales team. I listen properly before suggesting anything, then get on with the work that saves you time. When you message, I reply. When something breaks, I fix it.

I work with trades, shops and sole traders. If you've got a vague idea of what needs fixing on the tech or admin side of your business, that's enough for a chat. A few questions in, the way forward usually becomes obvious.

Approachable, plain English, and I implement technology that does what it's supposed to.

Curious what could be made easier?

A few small workflow changes can often save hours every week. Worth a conversation about where yours are going.
